Susan BrownGulf Coast to Golf Course
Around Town With Susan BrownGood Morning Everyone. I have great news for those of you who have not yet heard. Linda Karcanes announced at our SPINS Luncheon on Wednesday, that Laguna Vista will soon have two doctors establishing their practice right here in town. The doctors are brothers and they both practice Internal Medicine. I don't know what the dates are when they will be starting but when I find out I will keep you informed. They are taking the empty spaces in the strip mall where Bayside Diner, Baby Boomers and Mel's Liquors are located. What great news for our town, and all the people who live here. Now for all the exciting events happening this week. I hope you have a wonderful time enjoying all the variety of activities we find in our local communities. The not so positive restaurant review. You all know what a Foodie I am, so visiting restaurants to try new places and new foods is right up my alley. My husband and I enjoy going out for Brunch on Sunday Morning after church. And having spent many years in Las Vegas, the land of boundless buffets, we still enjoy a good buffet. Several people had recommended that we try the Hilton Hotel Buffet on Sunday mornings. We did that several months ago and had a very good experience. So this past Sunday we decided to try it again. Unfortunately, our experience was not the same calibre. The food was still quite good. The omelet station was really good and my husband loved the fresh waffles, The probelm was not the food. It was the service, or lack thereof. Realizing that this was a buffet we didn't expect to be waited on hand and foot. However, we did expect to be acknowledged, to be offered something to drink, to have someone check on us during the meal, but that never happened. No one showed up at our table until it was time to clear the plates and hand over the check. Not my idea of customer service. Needless to say the tip reflected the level of service.
